The P Diddy Case: Are we finally ready to talk about elite sex trafficking?
Dr Jess adds her thoughts to the sex trafficking we were all told were just ‘conspiracy theories’…
Unless you have been living under a rock (or have done what I dream of doing, which is quitting social media forever and never looking at it again!), you’ll have heard that hiphop superstar, music mogul, producer, BadBoy label owner and all round A List celebrity Sean ‘P Diddy’ Combs has now been arrested and charged with three counts of sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion, racketeering conspiracy; and transportation to engage in prostitution.
More and more musicians and celebrities have begun to speak out, from 50 Cent (who I swear has been waiting for this day forever), through to Mary J Blige - suggesting that, well, everyone knew.
Hollywood insiders are saying that musicians, sports personalities, actors, politicians and celebrities are ‘scared to death’ of speaking out against him, or talking about what they knew, what they know, or how they ended up at one of his ‘Freak Out Parties’.
Some of you will remember that it wasn’t too long ago that CCTV footage showed P Diddy attacking and beating his ex-girlfriend Cassie in the corridors and lobby of a hotel.
More recently, federal agents with US Homeland Security raided two of the rapper’s houses in Los Angeles and Miami in March as part of an investigation into the allegations brought against him.
Cases against Diddy began in November 2023 when he was sued by singer Cassie, his former partner, who alleged years of abuse at his hands.
R&B singer Cassie, whose full name is Casandra Ventura, filed a lawsuit in 2023 stating that she was trafficked, raped and beaten by Combs on many occasions over 10 years.
Her lawsuit claimed that Combs had started abusing her not long after she met him, and when he signed her to his label in 2005 when she was just 19 and he was 37.
Ventura said that the pattern of abuse began as soon as their relationship started and that, as she was trying to end it in 2018, he forced himself into her Los Angeles home and raped her.
Since Cassie bravely came forward, more and more victims have come forward too - including several men.
In February 2024, music producer Rodney Jones filed another case against Diddy, claiming Diddy had sexually assaulted him, that he had forced him to engage in sexual activity, and had drugged him. Jones states that he has audio and video evidence of Diddy’s sex offences and illegal activity.
So now we have the background out of the way, let me tell you my thoughts on this case.
They are roughly the following:
Sex trafficking amongst the elite has been deliberately framed as a conspiracy theory for decades, whilst victims and survivors have been gaslit, locked up, sued, attacked and ridiculed every time they’ve tried to come forward. Epstein. Weinstein. R Kelly. Prince Andrew. Now, Diddy. Apparently they are all just conspiracy theories dreamt up by mentally ill internet trolls, gold diggers and jealous exes. Funny how many of them end up being true, isn’t it? And the real harm here, is the horrific psychological abuse and gaslighting of all those victims, whilst so many people stand by and mock them like they are crazy.
Just like all forms of abuse, it requires collusion - this case is no different. Many, many people in powerful positions who were NOT victimised by him, but did know it was happening, could have spoken out about Diddy years ago, and they chose not to. This is the same pattern everywhere. People know who the abusers are, but they prefer an easier life than sticking their neck out for others. This has to be one of the sickest parts of our human nature - allowing others to suffer for months or years (or even until their deaths) to make it a tad easier for ourselves in the short term.
Just like all forms of abuse, many people will have been targeted - and there are likely many more victims than we realise. Men and women have already come forward - but one of the most important things to bear in mind here is the stereotype of the ‘perfect victim’ and how this will play out in this case. There will be many people who have been targeted by sex trafficking and extortion who are being blackmailed because of less-than-savoury things about themselves. Does that make them less of a victim? No. Does that mean what Diddy did was right? No. Keep your eyes open for which people become the ‘real victims’ and which ones become framed as liars or attention seekers.
With great power, comes absolutely no fucking responsibility whatsoever. Power corrupts. Money talks. Responsibility and accountability disappear. You can pay people to disappear. You can ruin people’s careers. You can intimidate the witnesses. You can hire a hit. You can spread malicious rumours about a person. You can use your connections to isolate someone. You can promise them their desires and needs if they stay quiet for you.
Celebrities who have been speaking out about Diddy and other elite sex trafficking rings for years have been isolated, outcast, and mocked relentlessly. To name a few who have spoken in detail about Hollywood and industry exploitation, control, sex trafficking and child abuse include: Corey Feldman, Corey Haim, Jaguar White, 50 Cent, Aaron Carter, Kat Williams, Kanye West, Kesha, Drake Bell, and Alexa Nikolas… and that’s without including very obvious victims of exploitation and abuse such as Britney Spears, who was clearly abused, pathologised, drugged and financially exploited for years under the conservatorship by her own family. Just like all whistleblowers though, they are targeted, hated, abused, laughed at or totally ignored.
Major media outlets have ran headlines for years calling all sex trafficking disclosures ‘conspiracy theories’. A quick google will find that everyone from the BBC through to The Atlantic have claimed that these disclosures about Hollywood and the music industry harbouring terrible secrets of rape, abuse, child trafficking and extortion ‘the great fake sex trafficking conspiracy’. May I remind you that the media did this with the sexual abuse within the church, too.
Does the mass media really care about the victims of Diddy, or are they looking for clicks and engagement? I’m sorry to say this, but they are looking for scoops. Don’t think that Diddy being exposed as a criminal will cause a cultural shift whereby victims are respected and supported - it doesn’t work like that. Epstein’s victims were relentlessly attacked and mocked, so were Weinstein’s victims. So were R Kelly’s victims and their families. The media may well have ran with their stories, and action may well have been taken against each of them - but did respect and support for victims increase? No. Were they painted as goldigging liars? Yep. Did people stop protecting and defending abusers and sex offenders? No.
If an entire industry is embroiled in, aware of, or scared of sexual abuse, trauma, blackmail, extortion, trafficking, drugging each other, covert recordings, grooming and murder - then that explains why so many of them are dying, ending their own lives, struggling with drug and alcohol abuse, trying to break away from the industry, or trying to speak out. We watch on as the public, whilst A-List celebrities seem to raise to dizzying heights of fame and then spiral out of control whilst giving frequent interviews about their ‘mental health’. Coincidence? Not at all.
Disney is one of the biggest players in the world of this kind of shit. Lindsay Lohan, Britney Spears, Miley Cyrus, Christina Aguilera, Justin Timberlake, Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato… they’ve all been pushed through the child star process - from cute little child actors to sexy, edgy, popstars. I wrote about this in my second book, ‘Sexy But Psycho’ in 2022. Almost every child star who has been pushed through the Disney machine has ended up struggling considerably with trauma, drugs, alcohol, and even talking of being abused as a child.
We cannot let the Diddy case turn into gossip and entertainment. Powerful people ensured that the real Epstein Island lists were suppressed. The Royal Family protected Prince Andrew. This is potentially one of the biggest cases of sex trafficking in the world, and there are large numbers of victims (and perpetrators) who will be connected to this case. It is time we stopped talking about these things in passing - sort of ‘Ooh have you heard the latest about XYZ?’
This isn’t entertainment - this is some of most life-changing and horrific crimes in the world, right in front of our eyes. These people run our countries, our media, our music and film industries, our culture and our ideas.
