Absolutely brilliant article and I’ve just used/shared it with the family court I’m involved with atm. The discrimination I’m experiencing is ridiculous, and the timing of your article is perfect for the nightmare I’m living right now. Seriously cannot thank you enough. Keep on keeping on, your work is critically important.

Thank you Jess from the bottom of my heart for all the work you are doing and the injustices you are uncovering xxx

Great article, thanks Jess! I’ve shared it with my niece who is a lawyer specialising in Family Law.

We dont live in a society that is consistent with equality,Dr.Taylor, lawyers know what they do,they deal with people based on the fact that those people cant represent themselves, that means those people cant say in court what they can,or,apparently, tell the whole truth, which is their part of the contract. The legal system is based on adversariality,I ve read a book by a lawyer who asserts that you should bring evidence that throws every piece of evidence you can lay your hands on that indicates the opposite side to be in the wrong, even though you may be able to tell that that attitude doesnt necessarily produce the entire truth,it delivers all the evidence that a person knows against someone they apparently dont know that well, with what evidence they can produce as an eye witness to support that. You have pointed out conditions that can result with a diminished volume of evidence being produced, which can be anything other than a perfect existence with your perfect partner with a perfect family;we all grow up from a state of insecurity, which varies in how delusional you can become, because it isnt a condition of the recognition of truth,so how people progress from that point means how reliable a witness they can be considered;I am of the opinion that most victims are truly victims, you seem to believe that as well, but if someone reads you they can get the impression that too many guilty people get away with crime, people should know when someone is truly mentally incapacitated,or that you are calling for something to be done about constitutional inadequacy;but citizens who would otherwise be completely uncontaminated with normal, private lives come into contact with a professional organisation which may know that it only comes into contact, and may even encourage, part of the entire truth to come forward.I think they do prove very serious crimes,I have heard they convict 85% of the time with rape,I have written elsewhere how strange the situation seems to be for children;but the weight of evidence and the jury decision is as it is;I ve written to you before about complete start to finish statements of truth being produced in court with the threat of prosecution if the statement isnt upheld, the only other advice about statement is to make sure that a victims statement is produced to ensure that the judge and jury are left in no doubt that a true crime has occurred,I feel that is already the situation, you may know that, but that may be supposition.
