"Trauma, abuse, poverty, and oppression are not medical conditions, they are not illnesses or disorders; they are political and social realities." This is one of the major points i make in my new book, Storying Silence, where I encourage women to write ourselves s back into autonomy by taking back narrative control of our life experiences. We have too long allowed ourselves to be defined by the stories told ABOUT us by this system. Thank you for this powerful piece!
Thank you, I come from that position, the insecurity can lead to an inability to speak, and also to know. I hope I don't bother you being a male, but it can take reeducation of yourself. Each person develops expectancies, which don't seem unreasonable, until you come into contact with others who want them, and can remove from yours to get them, and the male can show up as inordinate and of a line which contains the worse forms of criminality.
Absolutely. And the inability to speak can eventually lead to a loss of knowing, an inability to think beyond the limits of the language. Not bothered at all. Thank you for your input.
Thank you, I have experienced that, I found that I had to reform my mind by engaging in what I termed-"resolving equality", which meant spending months exchanging false thoughts for true ones, that meant a particular notice of internal wording that emphasise a separation from others. I'm still learning because of the language we have, insecurity can give a compressed understanding of words, when you remove it you can think and analyse, with it you are locked into the description you have been given, along with messages of hope. I've taken your books title, I hope you can help others, with greater volumes of equality, people can understand others, without it they can become more set against each other.
You get this throughout society though, Dr.Taylor, you can say it's from a patriarchy, but men are meant to have a certain nature which can become involved in leadership, and feeling protective and supportive with female and family, which can be linked to the nature of a rapist when that male can't supply those conditions; you can hear that females are supposed to be good at childbearing, you can get variations on that, I've had females I don't find attractive after sex from me, when they don't get what they want they can belittle you by calling you worthless. When people are involved in the societies and systems we live in it can be a case of choosing an identity with variations on a theme, that's why you get flare ups around the use of smartphones, some people get worried about what's going to happen due to problems with helping someone to develop their identity healthily. It runs into Psychiatry, I know males and females who say they can't do without medication, and once or twice you hear about people wandering the streets with people wondering if they are alive or not; I know an Indian man who was a pharmacist and was diagnosed with schizophrenia 40 years ago, his wife left him, he's almost 70 and hopes that euthanasia will help him out because all he has is football on telly with snooker to liven things up occasionally; this will go into Psychiatry which is criticized so Psychiatrists will claim to save thousands of lives. If you have an on the ground view it appears that money is involved and Psychiatry is the cheapest and deals with frontline action which does save lives, but it also seems to destroy and ruin life. The right wing view depends on who you are as well, it's part of money making here, and they may speak about it from their point of view which can include expediency along with issues they may tend to not understand, because money is a big issue with them, something of a panacea, with some exceptions especially Theresa May, who also came up with the most reasonable Brexit deal. Left wing believes in even shares more than Right, they both deal with how the country divides into different viewpoints, both want people working. What seems to be the case though is that Psychiatry appears to be frontline, Psychology is considered higher quality, don't get many in the NHS, waiting list of up to a year, can depend on what someone knows, or hears, as to whether they go on that list. Psychotherapy can be good, costs quite a lot, might be a factor in a curative. All can vary in quality, yours can be more forward with what's on offer, but as an outline what do you get when you can't tell if the service will work and you can hear about hits and misses along with the cost. This can go along with what I've written above, where can you get an entire description with a guarantee that this will work, because a complete description can mean the professional wont have a job? Dr.Taylor can show part of her Amethyst Programme, which looks very good and seems would work, but I can give different outlines based on different people based on analysis, and I know that if you directly approach a problem people with that problem will reject you. With Dr. Taylors writing about pathologisation though, I made an inappropriate comment to a 14 year old girl, this wouldn't have happened without a factor such as a voice inside my mind which spoke of "being punished for things I haven't done", which I thought would happen to me if I didn't pursue something which I thought was happening, I found it wasn't and so went for a year of Psychotherapy due to an understanding of severity of delusion. I know where that comment came from now; but events linked to the girls family included a form of therapy for me which the father indicated can result in a heart attack; he held his mother while she was dying of lung cancer and found it fascinating; what I'm trying to say is that the entire truth is not readily available when you are involved in a relationship, you become involved because you think you like someone, because of that and deficits within your own capacity to recognise, you don't notice things that you should which can put you in both trouble and danger to your own existence, this also ties in with what Dr.Taylor writes and experiences I've heard females having, like green flags continuing to show when red flags start appearing, there is a description of a normal human being which people don't know of, it appears sometimes, but when you become involved in relationships you don't know what is happening to you when you don't notice what you should, you don't recognise effects of being used, you don't know what happens when you feel the effects of being used, you can hear people have rationalised the use of others, you can vehemently disagree with that way of being because of how you are being used, but you can be involved with using others, and you don't know how it effects you when you don't believe you use people. I think Dr.Taylor deserves support, I believe in her position and stance, but I also believe in individuality, so I may seem to vacillate. Politicians wont stand against Psychiatry because they provide money for them, they take advice through a line of people more qualified than they are, it could be outlawed if there were a case for that.
politics really shine through here in your absolutist language. i imagine you benefit from this same corrupt industry that you don’t ACTUALLY call out.
A balanced point of view can be difficult to offer. Criticism doesn't help. Dr. Taylor tries to engage in removing pathologisation, it can involve different movements to shift descriptions closer to one of equality.
I blame capitalism. It's really fucked up our species😞
Thank you. I appreciate this discussion and the work you are doing to increase awareness 🙏👌
Yes, and violence against nonhuman animals is rationalized away too. All the power structures of society were created by male supremacy.
Yep.

Thank you, this makes things so clear.
Thankyou for writing this!! 🌼

shame on you.
My entire body of work is calling out pathologisation, read all my articles and my books.

Fuck off😤
